DevOps / Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Devops/Platform engineer to join our team and strengthen our numerical weather prediction platform. A development team member who works together with our developers and scientists to bring the next generation weather prediction to the world.

WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO

In this pivotal role you will act as the vital connection between our in-house software development and cloud-/IT infrastructure. You and the team play a crucial part in designing for scale and maintaining the smooth operation of our IT-services. Your nurturing mindset contributes significantly to enhancing customer experience and ensuring security. Collaborating seamlessly with colleagues and stakeholders, you actively shape the transition to a cloud-native platform. As a valued member of an agile team, you will inspire the team with modern software best-practices such as GitOps, CI/CD and other fantastic tools and services.

WHAT YOU BRING

You bring enthusiasm to redefine the standard in numerical weather prediction and thrive on the challenges of high-performance computing with GPUs in a cloud environment. With a strong background of hands-on experience in establishing and managing production systems at a cloud provider, ideally overseeing data pipelines with GPU workloads, you showcase expertise in infrastructure as code. Utilizing tools like Terraform and/or provisioning Kubernetes clusters using Helm and ArgoCD

You know all about cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Computing and/or Azure, demonstrating a robust understanding of networking, security and system administration. You will be the advocate for modern DevOps and security best practices and are eager to share this knowledge with your colleagues. Strong troubleshooting skills and keen security awareness are qualities highly appreciated.
