ESS is looking for a motivated and versatile Test Engineer to join our team. The Test Engineer will be focused on projects at the product level, and will be involved in a wide spectrum of testing and validation activities including future product development, current product optimization, reliability, durability, troubleshooting, and root cause and corrective action analysis.
What you’ll do at ESS
- Design tests to assess battery and system performance, reliability, and robustness consistent with product specifications.
- Configure test infrastructure (instrumentation, controls platform, data acquisition, diagnostic equipment, safety checks, etc.).
- Conduct component-level, subsystem-level, and integrated system testing.
- Compile, analyze, and report test data accurately and timely.
- Create and/or run models to predict component performances and facilitate design improvements.
- Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in FMEA and HAZOP, and develop risk mitigation plans.
What you bring to the table
Minimum Requirements:
- BS or MS in ChE, Electrochemistry, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must understand principles of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
- Experience interacting with lab and Engineering operations.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
- Must be able to multi-task several projects and prioritize workload to meet business specific deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a small, dynamic team responsible for product development.
We’d love to see:
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principals in a fuel cell or battery industry.
