Your role in the story

As (sr) Cost Engineer, you are responsible for the preparation of tender cost estimates. You will take the lead within the tender team to ensure accurate and strategic estimates, collaborating closely with colleagues and stakeholders. Success in this role comes from strong teamwork and communication, as you'll need to balance the complexity and scale of projects, multiple stakeholders, and tight deadlines. Who will you work with?

The Cost Estimating Team consist of a dedicated Lead CE and a several Cost Engineers and is an integrated part of the Commercial Department. The Commercial Department is responsible for generating value to Heerema Marine Contractors by winning and executing work. In this role you will be part of (multiple) Tender team(s) together with a Tender Manager, Tender Coordinator and multiple discipline experts. Furthermore, you have numerous internal and external stakeholders and will be reporting to the Lead CE.

What you will be doing on a daily basis

• Ensure delivery of tender cost estimates within the required timeframe
• Gather cost data from all the right sources
• Collaborate with different tender teams and interface with all contributing stakeholders
• Perform cash flow and risk analyses
• Keep cost models and databases updated to the latest standards
• Optimize the use of our estimation software (Cleopatra Enterprise)
• Maintain consistency between tender cost estimates
• Support Business development efforts

What we are looking for

You are proactive, reaching out to other (sub)departments within our company. You are results-driven, and ready to grow into a role with more financial and commercial focus. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines. You bring:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in (project) engineering/management, cost engineering or cost control in a construction/offshore/maritime contracting business
• Ambition to grow within the Cost Engineering Team
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Familiarity with Cleopatra Enterprise or the ability to quickly learn new software packages
• Currently residing in and eligible to work in the Netherlands
