The Role

Matrix Renewables is looking for a highly motivated Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager to join our Operations team in Spain. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the operation and maintenance activities of our photovoltaic assets across multiple locations.

Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, the O&M Manager will ensure optimal plant performance through effective supervision of maintenance plans, on-site inspections, contractor coordination, and continuous performance monitoring. This role requires frequent travel to operational sites and a proactive attitude to detect and resolve technical and operational issues in a timely manner.

Key activities and responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day O&M activities across the photovoltaic portfolio.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with maintenance plans and HSE standards.
• Monitor plant performance and support the resolution of technical issues in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance plans, ensuring execution according to contract terms and industry best practices.
• Coordinate and evaluate the work of subcontractors and service providers (O&M providers, HV/MV maintenance, security, etc.).
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of incidents, maintenance activities, and performance KPIs.
• Support the implementation of HSE and ESG company policies at site level.
• Collaborate with the Asset Management and Engineering teams to optimize plant operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Reduce operational costs and increase asset availability by developing an internal strategy for the procurement of spare parts and critical equipment.
• Establish and manage a network of technical suppliers and service providers tailored to the specific needs of the projects under management.

General Skills / Attributes

• Technical degree in Engineering (Electrical, Renewable Energies or similar).
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of photovoltaic plants.
• Proven experience coordinating on-site activities and managing O&M service providers.
• Solid understanding of PV plant components, SCADA systems, and performance monitoring tools.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations applicable to industrial or energy facilities.
• Availability to travel frequently within Spain (and occasionally abroad).
• Fluent in Spanish and professional level of English.
