Warehouse Material Handler

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include

Shipping & Logistics

• Prepare goods for shipping on pallets and parcels; ship products and materials
• Prepare Bills of Lading (BOL) and record shipment data including weight, dimensions, shipping charges, and tracking numbers
• Request quotes from carriers for shipping orders; compare and select the best option case by case
• Complete shipping and receiving reports and maintain accurate records

Receiving & Inventory

• Receive, unpack, check, count, book in, and store products and supplies
• Participate in inventory counting
• Make claim reports for damages and discrepancies; direct them to the appropriate department

Warehouse Operations

• Operate forklifts and store pallets on multiple levels of racks up to 19 feet
• Maintain forklifts and other warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance
• Perform general physical activities such as lifting, climbing, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials
• Handle and move objects using hands and arms for installing, positioning, and manipulating materials
• Clean the warehouse area at the end of each working day
• Perform other related duties as required

Candidate Requirements

Physical & Technical Skills

• Ability to lift to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 70 lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks
• Typing speed over 40 words per minute
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Working knowledge of ERP systems; Baan preferred
• Strong arithmetic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to accurately count items and differentiate between very similar ones

Education & Experience

• High school diploma
• 2-4 years of experience in the field or a related area

Cognitive & Communication Skills

• Ability to comprehend written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Good written and spoken English

Work Ethic & Environment

• Positive attitude, team player, self-motivated, process-oriented, reliable, and respectful
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment where multiple languages may be spoken
