Job Description

Lunar Energy is seeking a motivated, hands-on leader to head our Accounting function. This includes providing technical accounting guidance, audit, financial systems, internal controls, tax, and treasury. The Controller will report to the Head of Finance and will be an integral member of the Finance and Accounting team. On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…

• Lead all aspects of the accounting function, enabling the company to successfully transition through commercialization, significant scaling, and public company readiness
• Own the accuracy and timely delivery of the month-end close and financial statements
• Oversee the general ledger, cost accounting, AP/AR, payroll, technical accounting, tax, transfer pricing, treasury, and compliance
• Effectively manage and develop the accounting team in the US and UK (travel to the UK expected 1-2 times per year)
• Partner with the Finance team to enable effective decision-making and support both GAAP and management reporting
• Manage the annual financial audit and manage relationships with auditors and service providers
• Develop, document, communicate, and streamline accounting processes, systems, and policies
• Oversee the Netsuite ERP and all integrated applications
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal requirements

Desired Skills

• 10+ years of progressive Accounting experience, including managing and building teams in a high-growth environment
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience with ERP implementation and customization (NetSuite experience is a plus)
• Experience preparing a company to be public, IPO execution and/or public company reporting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate complex accounting matters to business partners
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally
• Strong business judgment and ability to balance multiple business priorities to achieve the best outcome
• Experience with accounting and transfer pricing across international subsidiaries and customers

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $190,000 - $250,000 USD.

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
