Job Description
Take charge of overseeing and verifying hydrographic data collected from 150 remote sites across Tasmania, ensuring its accuracy and integrity.
- Use your skills to maintain, model, and forecast hydrographic data.
- Help inform real time trading decisions.

Salary range $93,140 - $114,552 plus super

Who are you?
With a Certificate IV or equivalent industry experience as a Hydrographer or in Data Management you;
- Exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to undertake trips across Tasmania with our hydrographers to assist with field work.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.

About the role
As a key player in maintaining Hydro Tasmania's hydrographic data archives, your role will support critical business functions like real-time energy trading and dam safety by ensuring our data is accurate and timely. You'll also help automate processes and produce reports for stakeholders, contributing to the reliability and accuracy of our data. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in Tasmania's renewable energy sector while developing your skills in hydrography and data management.
As a Hydrographic Data Administrator at Hydro Tasmania, you will...
- Ensure the hydrographic data is timely, reliable and accurate
- Maintain extensive library of ratings curves to ensure accurate flow calculations
- Help build processes and procedures to continually improve data reliability and accuracy
- Assist with monitoring and maintenance of relevant automated processes to ensure forecasting model outputs are available and reports, alarms and notifications run smoothly
