Job Summary

The Corporate Strategy and Market Research Associate will support the Corporate Strategy, Market Affairs, and Origination functions at LRE. The associate will be responsible for market and customer research and reporting, as well as internal business analytics and cross-functional business reporting and analysis.

This position will monitor and report on market and customer trends that affect LRE’s business. The associate will be responsible for developing and communicating actionable insights that affect LRE’s overall corporate strategy (e.g., proposed strategic shifts, differentiation opportunities) and tactical market and customer insights that support LRE’s origination and marketing efforts.

This position will also support internal processes such as LRE’s strategic and business planning processes and development and origination processes. The associate will work cross-functionally to deliver business analytics, tracking and reporting related to these key processes, as well supporting continuous improvements related to process improvement and redesign. Additionally, the associate support due diligence and recommendation development on various strategic, market, and competitive topics relevant to LRE’s business

Essential Functions

  • Provide cross-functional business analytics and reporting services to various LRE functional areas
  • Develop competitor, customer, and market research reports and analysis to support LRE’s corporate strategic planning, origination, and power marketing efforts
  • Support LRE’s strategic planning process, including periodic strategy refreshes, target setting, corporate financial planning, opportunity cost / benefit analysis, corporate M&A due diligence, etc.
  • Lead analysis of identified strategic opportunities and provide recommendations on the opportunity merit and implementation considerations
  • Perform current state analysis of LRE’s business processes to identify gaps and gap-closing initiatives; support execution of gap closing initiatives
  • Deep dive various U.S. wholesale electric markets, providing research and analysis on market stakeholders and participants, relevant trends, current regulatory and legislative events, and other topics impacting LRE’s operations
  • Actively engage with strategy, market affairs, development, and power marketing leadership to communicate relevant insights and support key functional area workstreams

Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical and integrated reasoning skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to present complex information concisely through written and verbal communication
  • Adept with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to manage and analyze large datasets
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field required
  • 1-2 years of work experience or MBA preferred
  • Some degree of energy, power & utilities, or renewable energy industry experience preferred

Physical Demands

  • Position will require sitting for long periods of time as well as occasionally lifting up to twenty-pound boxes.
