Anza is seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer for its growing Anza business, responsible for:

  • The architecture, development, and support of a wide array of customer-facing and internal web applications using React and Typescript
  • Working closely with a diverse group of backend, devops, automation, and generalist engineers on a combination of existing and green-field efforts
  • Ensuring we stay aware of the latest patterns, libraries, and best-practices and how they should inform our work.

The Senior Frontend Software Engineer will report to the Director of Software Engineering of the company. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a fast-growing intelligent online marketplace business and be a part of Anza’s efforts to transform the industry’s approach to solar module procurement. With more than 1GW of modules procured in 2022 alone, we’re excited about being able to positively influence and improve the value of most of the distributed generation and utility scale projects in the US market.

About the Company

Born from Borrego, one of the industry’s oldest and most reliable solar and storage companies, Anza’s approach evolved out of a highly refined proprietary optimization process that was first used internally by Borrego engineering and procurement teams to optimize our development projects. As the industry matured, we saw a need to bring our expertise and analytical capabilities to a broader group of large-scale equipment buyers looking for a quick, simplified way to find and buy products for their projects. The result is Anza, the industry’s first intelligent procurement platform.

We do this by providing our developer, IPP, and EPC customers with a software solution to accelerate projects and maximize their returns. Our tech-savvy and continuous-improvement focused team is led by industry veterans, including longtime Borrego CEO Mike Hall and President Aaron Hall, one of the industry’s leading experts in solar procurement. Anza’s technology engine was developed and used by Borrego, an industry-leading solar and energy storage developer, EPC and O&M provider.

About the Role

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Evaluating our existing codebase, providing leadership and guidance on how it can be improved/refactored with an emphasis on WHY
  • Implementing new features within the constraints of our existing codebase, because we can’t always afford to replace/refactor
  • Collaborating with multiple teams to define the contract between frontend and backend systems
  • Designing and building new web-based tools, components, and applications in a green-field setting
  • Mentoring junior developers, both face-to-face in conversation and leading by example, demonstrating an appreciation for communication, documentation, testing, and readability
  • Staying up to date on the latest trends and best-practices in the world of frontend development
