Cleanworld is one of Europe’s leading independent brokerage firms for environmental commodities.

Established in 2008, we have gone from brokering Guarantees of Origins in Stavern to entering various other markets from our offices in Oslo, Sandefjord, Hamburg and Madrid – allowing us to partake in transactions of a wide range of products with a reach all over the world.

To date, our core business is green certificates related to the production and consumption of renewable electricity, -gas and fuels. Additionally, our team has many years of experience brokering biomethane, bio-LNG and various biofuels and feedstocks.

The position

In this position you will facilitate transactions for biomethane and biomethane certificates and related commodities with new and existing clients in the OTC markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You will work with colleagues and build on the company's current activity. Cleanworld is already a major broker in the European market for biomethane, but especially in the German speaking market we experience a huge potential. You will get responsibility fast and be in charge of building and creating your own portfolio of leads and clients. This will be achieved through cold calling, emailing and conferences. As a senior you should already be experienced with these situations, however you will have the support of an experienced team who are always there to help you out whenever needed. The teams works closely together to facilitate trades between international clients. Usually, deals are done jointly by two or more brokers. The position can be based in either Oslo or Hamburg, depending on the applicant.

Due to our limited training capacity in Hamburg, candidates with less experience in brokering are required to complete a one-year tenure in our Oslo office before transitioning to the Hamburg office. Candidates with more experience are only required to be in Oslo for the onboarding process.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an ambitious professional, experience from the biomethane markets in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. You are familiar with energy markets and ideally you have already contact to relevant companies in the industry. You should have an attraction to sales and not be afraid of cold calling or proactively reaching out to potential clients. You thrive under pressure; love challenges and any rejection should motivate you to just keep going.

Key skillsets

  • Fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Fluent or native in German (clients will be based in DE, AU and CH)
  • Degree in Business, Finance or other relevant studies
  • Minimum 3 year experience with sales, business development or other relevant work within the biomethane industry
  • Good understanding of the biomethane market in DACH.
  • Excellent communicator
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Motivated, energetic and eager to learn
