Job Description

Dandelion is looking for a Senior Human Resources Manager to build an outstanding employee experience and people strategy. As both a strategic and operational role, you will assume a critical position in developing business and people strategies to proactively support Dandelion’s mission, principles and growth. You will also manage the implementation of processes and programs necessary to support an evolving culture with a technology and logistics focus. We are looking for a hands-on team member who can communicate effectively and empathetically with managers and employees across a number of locations and with a number of operational focuses.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our DC headquarters in Courthouse, Arlington. Our fun, lively office is one block from Courthouse metro station (Orange and Silver lines), and only a 10 min drive / 20 min bike ride from downtown DC. Equally accessible from Northern VA, Bethesda, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a wide range of People & Culture functions including but not limited to onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, performance management, employee engagement, compliance, and company communications
  • Own the day-to-day operations of our internal HRIS and people systems and functions which includes setting up employees in system, setting up mandatory training, time-off management, and reporting
  • Partner with leadership to advise on People strategy and everyday people management
  • Provide assistance and counsel to managers and employees to assist them in resolving issues. Support managers on effective feedback and performance review processes
  • Lead compensation and benefits review process
  • Complete all annual HR audits and annual EEO1 filing.
  • Create a Dandelion framework and strategy for career progression
  • Prepare regular management reporting and analytics
  • Identify and implement programs and processes that develop needed skills, knowledge, and experience to promote a safety-first and continuous learning environment
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and processes to ensure compliance and support for affected employees.

About You

  • 5-6 years of progressive People, Human Resources and business experience
  • Strong empathetic communication skills with the ability to interact, influence, and express decisive opinions clearly and collaboratively at all levels.
  • Knowledge of employment/labor standards and compliance in the US and Dandelion’s operating states.
  • Attention to detail is a must In this role, you need to be a “safe pair of hands”.
  • Creative problem-solving. You have a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
  • Highly numerate with advanced proficiency in spreadsheets (including pivot tables), and a keen ability to manage and interpret complex data sets.
  • Ability to automate tasks and improve efficiency through formulas, and leverage data to drive HR initiatives & support organizational goals.
  • Prioritization and resilience. You understand when and how to manage a tight timeline while maintaining standards of excellence.
  • You must be able to handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Hands-on experience in companies with a heavy focus on logistics, operations, construction, or home improvement a plus
