About the Role

The Director of Architecture is responsible for leading the design across the Power Factors product portfolio. This role involves developing technology roadmaps, working with product development teams ensuring the integration and efficiency of solutions, and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation within the organization.

What You Will Be Doing

  1. Strategic Planning and Leadership
    • Develop and implement the overall software architecture strategy, aligning it with the company’s business goals.
    • Lead the architectural governance process to ensure investments are in line with the enterprise architecture framework.
    • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the architecture team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  2. Architecture Design and Development
    • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.
    • Ensure the integration of new technologies into the existing infrastructure.
    • Lead the development of architectural models and documentation.
  3. Technology Evaluation and Adoption
    • Evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact on the organization.
    • Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with vendors and partners to assess and implement new solutions.
  4. Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with business leaders, stakeholders, and teams to understand business needs and translate them into solutions.
    • Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals, and strategies effectively to all levels of the organization.
    • Foster strong relationships across development teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  5. Risk Management and Compliance
    • Ensure that architecture solutions comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Oversee the implementation of security protocols and disaster recovery plans.
  6. Team Development and Management
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of architects and other related staff.
    • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide professional development opportunities.
    • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

What You Will Need to Be Successful

Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following toolbox:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on architecture.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level architecture.
  • Experience working with globally-distributed development teams.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, cybersecurity, data management, and other relevant technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture tools and frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to drive change and innovation within an organization.
