What you'll do

  • Lead and inspire a team of engineers (Smart Meter Engineers/Electricians) to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with our Talent Team to bring the best people into the business and build your team.
  • Ensure your team has the skills, support, mentoring, and equipment needed to excel, working with suppliers and experts to meet these requirements.
  • Design processes and ways of working for engineers to consistently deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Inspire your team to contribute to our zero-carbon journey, encouraging creativity and efficiency improvements.
  • Coach and develop your team, creating an environment where engineers can grow and thrive.
  • Support Operations Managers in executing business strategy, building the team, and driving strong performance and customer service.
  • Work with the Technical Assurance team to ensure quality installations and meet accreditation standards.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experiences, resolving issues in person where needed.

What you'll need

  • Experience leading and inspiring teams in operational or engineering roles to deliver top-tier customer service.
  • Proven experience managing engineers in a field-based environment, either onsite or in customer homes.
  • Relevant industry experience, ideally in utilities, energy, electrical, renewables, or smart metering.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to deliver quickly in a fast-paced, lean environment.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, with excellent organizational skills and resilience.
  • Strong networking and collaboration skills, delivering with a focus on quality, safety, and customer experience.
  • Excellent people skills, attention to detail, and creative thinking.
  • Proactive in anticipating needs and productive in your work approach.
  • Willingness to travel to support engineers, attend training sessions, and meet with customers, partners, and suppliers.
