Job Description

Gridsight is a rapidly growing Grid/CleanTech startup that is accelerating global electrification and decarbonisation. Our AI-powered software generates insights that ensure electrical utilities maximise reliability, optimise operations, and integrate renewable energy sources seamlessly into the grid. Having recently raised our Series A round, we’re excited to supercharge our team in our quest to modernise, optimise and decentralise the global electricity grid as fast as possible!

As our Partnerships and Commercial Operations Lead, you'll be at the forefront of Gridsight’s mission, driving business growth and maximising revenue across our global business. In this critical role, you’ll apply your commercial & legal expertise to create value through strategic commercial partnerships & deal-desk build; whether it’s the development and management of new strategic partnerships, or engaging your creativity in structuring deals, you will be instrumental in shaping our commercial strategies, both to drive scale up and enhance our operational efficiency. Your ability to balance analytical rigour with innovative thinking will empower us to achieve our goals, ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our customers. We're not just reimagining the grid — we're accelerating its transformation. Join us in our mission to enable a future-proof grid powered by decentralised resources and renewables. ⚡️

High-Level Role Breakdown

  • ~40% strategic partnerships
  • ~25% commercial deal-desk
  • ~25% commercial projects (e.g. ISO27001)
  • ~10% financial operations & reporting

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnerships: Grow and lead our partnerships function. Manage & maximise existing partnerships. Test & scale new partnerships to accelerate GTM in existing markets, enter new markets and enhance our product capabilities;
  • Deal Desk & RevOps: Own, streamline and manage sales and revenue operations processes including Deal Desk formation and management, revenue forecasting; centralise reporting and performance monitoring;
  • Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as SaaS agreements, licensing deals, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements; conduct initial legal reviews (MSAs, NDAs, etc.) and coordinate with external legal counsel as required;
  • Compliance and Advisory: Own, streamline and manage our key commercial documentation processes; ensure the company’s operations comply with applicable laws and regulations; provide legal advice to internal teams around data protection laws; support ISO 27001 and SOC2 implementation as required;
  • Supplier Management: Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and third parties; create and drive review processes;
  • Treasury and Grant Management: Actively manage working capital and non-competitive grants to maximise yields/credits;
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Development and management of processes; track key performance indicators related to both commercial and operational activities; support executive reporting, board meetings and fundraising.

Your Skills + Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or J.D. in Law;
  • 4 - 8+ years of professional experience across commercial management, operations, or a similar role, preferably within the tech or software industry; experience in SaaS (Software as a Service), enterprise software, or pre-Series C tech startups preferred;
  • Strong negotiation skills for closing deals, managing contracts, and establishing partnerships;
  • Proven ability in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and managing P&L;
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing strategic projects across multiple departments with varying timelines; you’re also proficient in monitoring, analysing, and reporting on progress-to-goal and impact;
  • Self-starter mentality; you’re able to independently prioritise tasks and manage time effectively with minimal oversight.

Ways We Work

  • Remote-first, office-optional. Do you work your best from home, in office, or a mix of both? Either way, we’ve got you covered [in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Wollongong].
  • Work flexibly, communicate frequently. No hard and fast core working hours, and asynchronous communication is embraced [unless you have client commitments, of course]; transparency is the name of the game [i.e., keep the team posted in #updates-OOO].
  • Travel occasionally, banter continuously. Attend in-person working weeks once per quarter and a retreat once per year; working together IRL may be infrequent, but the chats [and emojis] never stop.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary;
  • Equity incentives;
  • Well-being + WFH allowances.
