Trade Marketing Associate

Job Description

Sun King’s Marketing team strategizes, designs, and implements campaigns, communications, and brand activations to assist the sale of solar powered home energy solutions through the company’s “EasyBuy” direct to consumer (B2C) and distribution partnership (B2C) channels.
The Marketing team works joint with the company’s in-house Creative team, the Direct Sales and Distribution Partnerships teams, Finance, and Operations to execute below- and above- the line marketing activities, corporate communications, and brand promotion to drive sales and maintain market success.

We are looking for an experienced Trade Marketing Associate who will leverage their expertise in planning and implementing marketing and brand activation activities for the entire life cycle of all Sun King products and services.

What you will be expected to do

Trade Assistance

• Work closely with the Business Managers to align trade marketing activities/campaigns.
• Take the initiative in the activity planning process, clarifying trade activity aim, activities, and schedule.
• Provide market, in-trade, and rival insights into the brand processes.
• Ensure synchronization of the trade activities with the overall brand plan.
• Planning and execution for new products and services launches.
• Conduct regular trade visits for research and to assess activations and launches in key markets.
• Pre & post marketing campaign evaluation through estimated ROI and market feedback as well as market data readings when applicable.
• Assess success & prepare closing reports for all campaigns and launches.
• Track monthly rival activities & generate monthly rival reports.

Trade Visibility

• Work closely with the procurement team to requisition for branding materials, POSM, merchandise, and other resources required for visibility drives across the country.
• Management of all local council requirements related to visibility.
• Carry out audits as per market itineraries to evaluate execution of trade visibility as per required standard.
• Manage appointed agencies & train them on visibility guidelines and picture of success.
• Take the initiative in the development & deployment of all marketing materials.
• Furnish the input needed for budgeting for visibility and any other BTL materials.

Sun King Store branding

• Ensure store location is at a vantage point and within Sun King standards
• Supervise and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely execution of store branding as per signed off the artwork, set standards and Turn around timelines
• Carry out regular checks to ensure all Sun King stores are neat, maintained well and do not have clutter

Agency Management

• Develop and manage close relationships with agencies and suppliers.
• Drive cost productivity in procurement
• Manage agencies in the implementation, execution and evaluation of marketing campaigns
• Work closely with finance to partake activity costs forecasts for proper financial planning and efficient achievements

You might be a strong candidate if you have

• Advanced Degree/Diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution, preferably a background in business related field.
• At least 4 years’ background and core expertise in trade marketing; preferably in the FMCG, Telco or Solar Industry.
• An excellent team player with strong relational communication skills.
• Planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage projects.
• Highly results and performance oriented with the ability to solve problems and make critical recommendations.
• Self-motivated, self-starter who is willing to take initiative, ownership & accountability.
• Have the ability to develop strong internal and external partnerships and form strategic alliances.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Excellent negotiation/influencing and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel across the country (60% of your time will be spent in the field).
• Are currently located in or are willing to relocate to Nampula.
• Outstanding communication and social skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders fluently in both written and spoken English and Portuguese.
