We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic with a focus on both mechanical and electrical maintenance to join our team at our state-of-the-art Anaerobic Digestion facility in Jessup, Maryland. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all machinery, equipment, and electrical systems within the facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and electrical systems in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems, to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues with equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and production machinery.
- Installation and Upgrades: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment, and implement upgrades to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Electrical Maintenance: Handle electrical maintenance tasks, including wiring, control panels, PLC troubleshooting, motor controls, and safety interlocks, while ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards.
- Equipment Calibration and Testing: Perform equipment testing, calibrations, and adjustments to maintain optimal performance and quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, preventive maintenance schedules, parts used, and equipment performance logs.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, and ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and environmental standards to promote a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to understand equipment needs and provide technical support to enhance production and minimize disruptions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a strong focus on both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments.
Physical Requirements
Mobility to stand, sit, walk, stoop, twist, bend, climb ladders, crawl, balance, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
