Financial Operations Specialist

Connexus Energy is looking for a Financial Operations Specialist to join our team! The Financial Operations Specialist will maintain accurate residential member billing data, including rates, billing history and usage. This role will also monitor, research and analyze AMI meter data to proactively identify issues and ensure meters are operating properly. This position supports a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities & Results

• Ensure Residential accounts are billing accurately and timely.
• Analyze meter data from Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), research exceptions, process audit reports and take appropriate action to create timely bills with minimal defects.
• Work monthly account exceptions and resolve issues as needed.
• Process requested changes to member’s accounts including adding or removing special residential rates.
• Independently perform Residential bill audits to identify potential usage, seasonal or rate issues prior to creating bills
• Work within Member Billing & Operations team and cross functionally to identify cost, quality and efficiency improvement opportunities related to the billing and meter reading function.

Required Education and Expertise

• High school or General Equivalency Diploma
• Three or more years of experience with utility billing, finance, or accounting

Preferred Education and Expertise

• Associates Degree
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform both simple and complex mathematical calculations
• Three or more years of customer service experience
• Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills
• Ability to develop knowledge of Customer Information System (CIS) software
