What we are looking for

Our Asset Operations Services team spearheads the strategic direction and definition of Stem's post COD service offerings, including, LTSA, ROC, Operations, Market and Risk services. We're searching for a driven and experienced professional to champion this services product line. This role encompasses the full spectrum: defining the strategic vision, managing products and roadmaps, and overseeing the process for execution and delivery of the Asset Operations Services products. This role will work closely with our partnership-focused teams to leverage industry relationships to deliver these services efficiently for Stem and our customers.

Leveraging Stem's established leadership in the industry, dating back to our installation of the first commercial energy storage system in 2012, you'll identify and champion the post – COD services that deliver tangible benefits for our customers. This includes increasing financial returns, enhancing reliability, optimizing operations, and ultimately, boosting the value and life of their assets.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap for Stem's Asset Operations Services. Conduct in-depth voice-of-customer research to understand client needs and translate them into high-value service offerings.
  • Support in the execution and delivery of post COD services, in partnership with delivery and operations team ensuring these products maximize the performance of client BESS and other energy projects.
  • Continuously improve service offerings, execution methodologies, and roadmaps, driven by a deep understanding of client needs and industry trends.
  • Act as a domain expert, envisioning solutions for challenges in large-scale BESS and associated energy solution operations and management.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and emerging technologies, advocating for their integration into our service offerings.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for internal and external clients regarding Stem’s post – COD services, providing support to sales, account executives, delivery, and operations teams.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and OKRs that extend Stem's competitive advantage and address future market trends.
  • Lead the definition of product vision, strategy, and requirements, validating direction with internal teams, partners, and customers.
  • Represent Stem's Asset performance and management services capabilities to clients, industry trade shows, and other forums.

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in BESS development, construction, and operations. In-field experiences with BESS assets a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify client needs and develop competitive asset management services and plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of BESS asset development, construction, and/or operations.
  • Understanding of current market trends and solutions for utility-scale energy projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive collaboration and consensus within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred).
  • Master's degree in science or business (a plus).
  • Experience in product ownership or a similar role.
  • Proven track record of managing product roadmaps and translating client needs into actionable plans and service offerings.
  • Familiarity with multiple functional areas, including engineering, sales, customer operations, finance, and marketing.
  • History of building strong relationships and successful collaborations with partners.
