Role Overview

Are you ready to lead and redefine the data landscape in an innovative energy solutions company? As the Lead Data Engineer at Polarium, you'll spearhead the development of our cutting-edge data analytics platform, facilitating self-service data access and empowering strategic decision-making throughout the organization. Your technical expertise will be crucial in building scalable data infrastructures and crafting robust datasets that enhance our operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and refine our self-service data analytics platform, enabling intuitive access and powerful data exploration capabilities.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that support and enhance our infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and analysts to optimize data quality and system reliability.
  • Lead the development of system specifications, architectural designs, and process enhancements to improve platform functionality.
  • Design and implement technical solutions including data models, integrations, and cloud-based pipelines using AWS.
  • Manage technical configurations, script automation, and oversee outputs from third-party developers.
  • Drive pre-study assessments for the integration of new technologies and projects, shaping the future of data strategy at Polarium.
  • Provide high-level support and expertise to internal teams and external partners, enhancing collaborative efforts and product delivery.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related field, showcasing a portfolio of successful projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in constructing advanced data platforms and pipelines.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Strong foundation in data modeling, data warehousing, ETL processes, and database management.
  • Skilled in cloud environments, particularly AWS, with a good grasp of CI/CD practices and version control using Git.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Willingness for occasional travel as needed.
