Purpose of the job

ENGIE are recruiting for a Credit and Collections Team Manager to provide directional team management for the I&C credit and collections team to be based in Leeds. The job holder will be responsible for the management of overdue debt through the disconnections process and internal and external legal process. This is a hybrid role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

Key responsibilities

  • Fully responsible for the end to end reconciliation, resolution and collection of debt, including accounts that require monitoring as a result of continued non-payment (high risk accounts)
  • Assist the Head Of Collections & Recoveries to identify root causes of non-payment of overdue and disputed debts on specific customers to reduce the credit note provision
  • Responsibility for managing direct debit customers, payment runs and payment reconciliations to ensure timely payment is received from all customers or action taken where not received
  • Assist the Head Of Collections & Recoveries in producing weekly, monthly and adhoc reports
  • Assist the Account Management Team with resolving customer queries and leading the resolution of payment disputes
  • Resolution of complaints in conjunction with the complaints team
  • Assist with Business Projects, providing subject matter expertise
  • To provide management support to the I&C credit and collections team, leading tasks, ensuring people development and performance management

Experience and skills

  • Proven ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Organisational skills
  • Highly numerate
  • Verbal reasoning
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities
  • Previous Team Leader experience is essential
  • Ideally a significant period of practical experience in a credit control team and / or in a financial environment

Qualifications

  • GCSE English Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • GCSE Mathematics Grade C or above (or equivalent)
