Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable power generator, is developing the Loch na Cathrach project in Scotland. The 450MW scheme, first conceived in 2015, was granted consent by Scottish Government ministers in June 2021. The acquisition demonstrates Statkraft’ s ability to be a market integrator and shows its latest commitment to helping Scotland meet its renewable energy targets and strengthening UK energy security. Located on a site around 14km south-west of Inverness, it will capture excess renewable energy, and store it until needed, helping provide security of supply as Great Britain’s electricity network shifts away from fossil fuels. Pending a final investment decision, this significant UK renewable energy infrastructure project will support hundreds of jobs during construction and provide locally based permanent jobs once operational.

We are currently recruiting for a Project Director to based in Scotland or close to our Glasgow office. The Project Director will be responsible for our newly acquired Loch na Cathrach project in Scotland keeping tight control of safety/time/quality/cost whilst strictly adhering to the project governance principles of Statkraft.

The Project Director will have primary interface with our SVP and project development teams within the UK, with the aim to collaborate and contribute to value creation throughout the development and delivery phase of our Loch na Cathrach project.
