Important Information About ConnectDER's Summer Internship

  • Open to Undergraduate Students in the Greater Philadelphia, PA area.
  • Internship Dates: June 2, 2025 - August 15, 2025.
  • Interns will be expected to work 30-35 hours per week, 3-4 days per week in our Philadelphia, PA Office.
  • Interns will be expected to conduct a short presentation at the end of the internship (details TBD).

Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Quality Assurance Test Engineering Intern at ConnectDER, you'll play a hands-on role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our innovative Meter Socket Adapter products. Reporting to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager, you'll contribute to the qualification and verification of our products by executing test cases that help identify and prevent defects.

You'll be responsible for running Test Plans, Test Cycles, and Test Reports, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop effective test strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Additionally, you'll analyze test reports to uncover trends and insights, using statistical and data analysis to drive continuous improvement.

This is a 12-week internship that will run from June 2, 2025 to August 15, 2025. The intern will work 30-35 hours a week. This is primarily an on-site position with the expectation to work in our Philadelphia, PA office 3-4 days per week.

Core Functions/Duties

  • Execute manual and automated test cases across different ConnectDER products.
  • Review and understand requirements, specifications, and technical design documents relating to products under test.
  • Assist with detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Analyze test results, identify bugs, and report them efficiently using bug tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to reproduce and resolve bugs, ensuring timely fixes.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of QA processes and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Stay up to date with the latest testing methodologies and tools.

Compensation for this position is $25/hour

Qualifications

Education

Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related field.

Required Experience

  • Experience with testing software and/or hardware products.
  • Previous experience in a lab or field environment working with electrical or mechanical devices.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive technical reports.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering methodologies, tools, and processes.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in testing electrical and/or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience in testing or working with AC electricity devices, DC electricity and circuit boards, and electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience in test automation and developing custom automated solutions using Labview, C, C++, Python, and/or JavaScript.
