Job Description
The IT Delivery Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operational IT management and the successful delivery of the technology investment portfolio related to ScottishPower Transmission. They’ll lead the team and portfolio of projects, ensuring business needs are met through application support and project implementation including system upgrades and migrations, ensuring alignment with global IT and business models.
As the IT Delivery Lead, you’ll be responsible for a team of direct and indirect reports, who will work closely with the Business, Corporate and Global functions, frameworks, and governance. This role includes the development and mentoring of team members, and management of an annual Capex budget of up to £20m and Opex budget of up to £3m.
Within this role, you’ll be aligned to the enablement and delivery of the Data & Digitalisation Programme, sitting as an active member of the CoE management team, and will be expected to contribute and lead in a positive and constructive manner. This involves communications at all levels including Business, Global and Corporate Stakeholder Management, and will require deputising for the Head of COE as standard and as required.
What you’ll be doing
This is a technology leadership role, you’ll support the development of the IT strategy roadmap, ensuring the team carry out end-to-end project management, across the full project lifecycle, using modern delivery approaches to technical delivery. You'll own the delivery of partners and service providers, as well as the internal teams, involved in the delivery of your portfolio.
A key part of the will be aligning proposed solutions and technologies in line with SPEN strategy and Iberdrola’s technology blueprint.
In addition, you’ll oversee technical delivery practices across all new developments on existing or new systems and provide technical assessments and prioritisation on projects to the Demand Management submission. Ensuring the development and implementation of IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans as defined in the IT Strategy.
What we’re looking for
- Technical Delivery expert, with demonstratable leadership experience in Agile and DevOps.
- Highly effective at leading and managing a large busy team.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the IT lifecycle and experience of the business and suite of applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business and IT at an Executive level.
- Strong understanding and experience of technology and architecture.
- Proven analytical skills and ability to analyse and lead detailed change.
- Ability to effectively manage projects utilising appropriate planning, consultancy and robust project management skills and methodologies.
- In depth knowledge and experience of end-to-end design and development lifecycles, including agile delivery and DevOps approaches.
- In depth knowledge and experience of Service Management/ITIL to ensure the operational service is maintain and managed effectively and efficiently.
