Role and Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer at Flower, you will:

• Translate business requirements into scalable and efficient code solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address their needs effectively.
• Develop and maintain code infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Utilize your expertise in Python to architect and implement back-end systems.
• Work with cloud services, particularly AWS, to build and deploy applications.
• Contribute to the design and setup of cloud architecture using tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of back-end development experience.
• Ability to interpret and translate business needs into code.
• Strong communication skills.
• Versatility in front-end and back-end development.
• Experience in building systems in a novel domain.

Must-haves

• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mindset.
• Experience developing and maintaining code infrastructure (e.g., CI/CD pipelines through GitHub Actions).
• Proven professional experience with cloud services, preferably AWS.
• Experience with IaC (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
• Ability to work independently, as a self-starter and self-learner, willing to take on responsibility.
• Ability to work with fast-changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice-to-have

• Experience setting up architecture in the cloud, preferably AWS.
• Experience with Golang.
• Knowledge of multiple programming languages.
• Experience with AWS IoT cloud services (e.g., Greengrass, IoT Core).
• Knowledge of common IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT).
• Experience working within the renewable energy sector.
• Data collection expertise (e.g., websocket, API) and automated data processing.
• Experience with streaming data tools such as Apache Kafka & Flink, AWS Kinesis, etc.
• Experience in a startup/scale-up environment.
• Experience with system and service architecture.
• Experience working alongside data scientists.

The nice-to-haves cover the needs of different teams so it’s okay if you only have experience from a few of them.

Location

We value office collaboration but support some hybride work. Our office is at Söder Mälarstrand, minutes away from Gamla Stan subway station in Stockholm.
