Regulatory Value Analyst
Join EcoCeres Europe AG as a Regulatory Value Analyst in Zug, Switzerland. Analyze European biofuel markets and regulatory policies to drive business strategies.
The Regulatory Value Analysis plays a crucial role in EcoCeres by ensuring that EcoCeres stays ahead of competition. This role will monitor the development of European biofuel markets, with strong focus on regulatory policies development, renewable mandates /obligations, in order to quantify financial impact on for both HVO and SAF products.
The primary responsibility is to identify, collect, analyze, monitor, and report the critical biofuel market information in Europe, including but not limited to, policy changes, renewable obligations/mandates, certificate trading markets, biofuel capacities, pricing analysis, cost competitiveness of different production technologies on regular basis.
This role will also collaborate with the Commercial team, for strategic partnership & collaboration, with colleagues within the Strategy team for proprietary database & analytics system building for optimized business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Analysis
- Monitor and analyze European biofuel and carbon market policies
- Assess financial impact of any regulatory policy changes on biofuel products (i.e. HVO and SAF) market conditions, including pricing, demand and supply.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes, environmental policies, renewable obligation/mandates, and emerging trends that may impact biofuel products demand/supply
- Data Analysis
- Utilize data analysis tools and software to forecast biofuel products demand and supply and optimize business strategies amid regulatory policies changes.
- Generate reports and insights to support decision-making processes.
- External Collaboration
- Identify and establish relationships with key industry players, government agencies, industry associations, think tanks and data service providers.
- Explore and recommend sustainable business practices to optimize the environmental value of biofuel product sales.
- Explore and recommend compliance practices with environmental regulations and sustainability standards related to product sales.
- Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and disruptions in the European biofuel demand/supply value chain, such as regulatory impacts, trading policies, carbon market policies, renewable mandates and/or logistic related issues.
- Recommend and identify business opportunities and risk management in the event of biofuel market condition changes.
- Internal Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including commercial, production, R&D, and sustainability departments, to formulate business strategies amid change market conditions.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of European biofuel and carbon policies regulations.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for management to track key biofuel regulatory development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as accounting, finance, supply chain management, agriculture, or environmental science. A master's degree may be preferred for more senior roles.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Fluency in one of the European languages (French, German, Dutch, Spanish or Italian)
- Knowledge of European biofuel markets and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Understanding of sustainability and environmental regulations.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing market conditions.
