Ameresco provide Project Management and Project Consultancy Services incorporating all elements of a project lifecycle including Investment Grade Audits/feasibility stuies, capital justifications, front-end engineering and detailed design, right through to full turnkey project completion. Our core clients operate within the Public Sector, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, and Food and Drink sectors. The diversity of our client’s markets and the size of the projects that we are asked to undertake, means that our Engineers have the opportunity to experience a variety of projects and use both established and developing technologies and methods.

We are looking for a Sales Programme Manager to join our team. The role is expected to provide strong leadership in a matrix environment to promote best practices in managing interrelated projects and programmes to ensure successful delivery. Strong project or programme management and excellent organisational skills are fundamental, as is the ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation.

Requirements

  • Weekly and quarterly progress reports and feedback to City Leap Board directors.
  • Weekly client meetings to: review and agree project status,
  • Tracking BDM resources to meet the requirements of the Bristol development pipeline
  • Objective settings and regular catch-ups with direct reports (project managers and senior project managers).
  • Supervising BCL’s supply chain strategy and maintaining key contractor accounts.
  • Preparing job Descriptions and coordinating recruitment.
  • Manage and coordinate updates for all Ameresco and Vattenfall opportunities into the Council’s project register and Ameresco’s CRM.
  • Programme management of the Large-Scale Renewable sites through the Council’s approvals process
  • Supporting and advising BDMs with key messages in client proposals, and managing key risks for Ameresco.
  • Agreeing process changes with client and internal stakeholders.
  • Escalating key operational and strategic risks for senior management support, as appropriate.
  • Market testing new products and services as appropriate to meet client’s requirements.
  • Management of the Council’s MOI services contract
  • Management support to junior staff in BCL and culture team.
  • Supervise the delivery of BCL away days and lunchtime learns
  • Coordinate the development goals and training of direct reports and wider BCL strategic requirements.
  • Co-chair of the Community Energy Fund, to oversee grant spending decisions of the panel.
  • Project Manager lead for BCC’s Innovate UK funded Misson Net Zero

People are important to our business and therefore the ability to interface with other disciplines within the engineering design, development and sales teams is a vital skill that we look for in all members of our team.

  • Significant experience at a senior level in a Project and Programme Management role.
  • Recognised formal project management qualification (PMP/APMP or equivalent) is desirable
  • Minimum 2:1 BSc or an MSc engineering degree preferably in chemical, mechanical, building or electrical. services
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management and Development function across a range of energy conservation measures.
  • Commercially aware with experience of negotiating with equipment suppliers and installation contractors.
  • Developed project/programme management and planning skills and experience.
  • Ability to manage a range of projects types and complex business initiatives and change programmes/.
  • Ability to and experience of providing input to organisational business and budget planning.
  • Good understanding of performance management frameworks and tools in the delivery of business objectives.
  • Team management experience with the ability to manage and motivate project teams.
  • Ability to juggle different projects/priorities and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure.
  • Capability to provide timely, accurate and relevant project and portfolio reporting as agreed.
  • Experience of resource planning against the prioritised portfolio of projects and ability to work with the project team and business to manage project resource needs.
  • Capability to track project benefits realisation and lessons learnt activities to feed into on-going improvements.
  • Able to focus on a clear goal in all actions.
  • Ability to monitor and report on project budgets across the portfolio.
  • Advanced IT skills in relation to Word, PowerPoint and Excel and MS Project or other project tools
  • Responsible for mentoring and coaching the project teams to effectively implement the Project Delivery Approach
  • Thought leader with a view to creating a viable Project Implementation service and supporting pragmatic delivery of projects.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and have a flexible approach to work. They will be customer focused, passionate about energy efficiency and renewable energy. They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines. The job requires the willingness to travel across UK and Europe, while based in Bristol.
