Off-Grid Europe is an internationally oriented company in the field of renewable energies and intelligent technologies with a focus on Africa.

In order to shape the future of Off-Grid, we are now looking for a person who will be our first leading Technical Sales Engineer to support our business development team and be the technical interface for our customers. You will have the opportunity to travel a lot, work on international, meaningful projects and play a fundamental role in advising our customers on what is technically possible.

You can tear project proposals apart when they make no sense, weed out the pointless opportunities, stop sales from pursuing opportunities which are a waste of time, convince customers to move in a more logical direction and speak your mind with passion and eloquence. You must be scientifically driven, with a passion for excellence and have a strong intuition for what is right and wrong. You must understand finance and not be driving from the point of profit, but rather the point of excellent delivery of products and services. Long term this is our legacy and you're a key pillar in our constant pursuit to do the right thing.

Your duties

  • As the first technical contact, you will accompany the project from initiation to contract conclusion up to the development/implementation process
  • Traveling together with colleagues from business development, talk to your technical counterparts on the customer side to fully understand their needs and propose appropriate solutions
  • You are the technical interface between customer, engineering department, business development and project planning
  • Stay current on all our product developments, specifications, and industry trends and make sure our clients receive the best possible solutions
  • Evaluation of the technical feasibility of a project, transfer the customer requirements to the engineering team
  • Carrying out analyses on the feasibility and viability of BESS storage projects, create detailed quotation calculations including costs and technical breakdowns for all products and services and support with tender documentation

Your profile

  • Completed degree in electrical engineering, renewable engineering, mechatronics or a similar technical field or comparable further training as a technician/master craftsman
  • Several years of experience in a similar position are a must
  • Experience in project planning and implementation of renewable energy projects are a plus
  • The skills required in this role are teamwork, structured planning, organisation and a sense of responsibility
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts
  • You are a traveler, a diplomat and you love to juggle numbers
  • Very good English and ideally some German skills are mandatory for this position

Currently we employ 20 different nationalities in Germany and we have a strong focus on international recruitment. Cross cultural/global teams are a big part of our vision and culture. We are located in South Germany, it is a rural area and you must be on site when not traveling.
