This role manages a wide range of shipment types - including palletized freight and oversized or heavy-lift equipment - across multiple transportation modes such as ground (FTL/LTL), ocean and air.

The Import/Export Logistics Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, internal project teams, and suppliers to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods. This position reports to the Senior Director, Procurement and Supply Chain and plays a critical role in maintaining continuity of global logistics operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate transportation across multiple modes, including small parcel, courier, North American FTL/LTL, global ocean freight, and air freight, supporting both palletized and oversized shipments
  • Act as a subject matter expert on international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and INCOTERMS, ensuring compliance across all import/export activities
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and other regulatory or customer-required documents
  • Serve as the day-to-day logistics liaison with internal teams (Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Commercial, Project Delivery, Engineering) and external partners (3PLs, freight forwarders, carriers, direct materials suppliers)
  • Track and maintain accurate shipment data across logistics tools, trackers, and RFQ databases, managing multiple unique shipments concurrently
  • Proactively identify logistics risks, delays, or constraints; communicate impacts and mitigation plans clearly to stakeholders
  • Obtain and evaluate freight quotes from domestic and international carriers to support project budgets and commercial agreements
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of logistics processes, trackers, SOPs, and project-specific logistics plans
  • Prioritize logistics issues based on urgency and business impact, responding quickly to critical or time-sensitive matters

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles with a global focus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with international and domestic freight (ocean, air, and ground)
  • Working knowledge of import/export processes, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance
  • Practical experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification
  • Strong understanding and application of INCOTERMS?? 2020
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve shipping exceptions, delays, and compliance issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Highly organized, with the ability to break down complex logistics challenges into actionable steps
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite and/or Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Strong analytical and data management skills, with the ability to translate information into repeatable processes and documentation
