Corporate Lawyer

Job Description

We are looking for a Corporate Lawyer to join our Legal team, which handles high-priority, complex and often time-sensitive challenges. In this role, you will support Photon Energy Group´s operations in Romania by providing legal expertise for project acquisitions and development activities.

As a member of Photon Energy Group’s core Legal team, you will also apply a key role in enhancing our processes and creating scalable solutions at a global level, ensuring that our legal framework evolves in line with the growth and dynamic needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad spectrum of legal issues impacting Photon Energy Group's core business areas, including PV project development, construction, operations and maintenance, and power trading
• Assisting with various corporate, commercial, financial, and M&A transactions, while negotiating related transaction documentation
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
• Evaluating projects and business opportunities by assessing contractual and legal risks, and providing comprehensive business support and guidance
• Actively contributing to the development and management of PV projects
• Coordinating with external lawyers and advisors to achieve business objectives in an efficient and thorough manner
• Supervising transactions and taking full responsibility for project execution

Qualifications and Experience

• A master’s degree in law from a recognised university in Romania
• Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in private practice and/or in-house in a corporate legal/contracts department, or at a law firm handling corporate law/contract matters
• Fluent in Romanian and English
• Experience in the renewable energy sector is beneficial; particularly project development, construction, operations and maintenance and/or power trading
• Experience in M&A transactions, due diligence for PPA, O&M and EPC contracts is a plus
• Strong ability to work under pressure, handle shifting priorities, and operate independently while following general instructions on various specialised tasks
• Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with contract negotiation and review
• Passion for renewable energy
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
