Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Power Production Analyst in Oslo, Norway to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Power Production Analyst you will be responsible for working with analysis of the power production of our global portfolio of operational plants, as well as analysis of other relevant data from those plants. Furthermore, you will be involved in development of new methods and tools for analysing power production, and carry out analysis initiatives to ensure that the power production at our plants are optimized.

Main responsibilities

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of factors affecting the production at Scatec’s operational solar, wind, hybrid and BESS power plants. Analyse production discrepancies and document impact on overall performance. Where production improvement potential is identified, initiate process for improvement.
  • Analyse equipment and maintenance data related to relevant metrics such as failure frequences, repair times, resource usage and spare parts consumption, with a view to support improvements in Scatec’s maintenance processes.
  • Provide and present relevant operational statistics on production, equipment reliability and maintenance efforts to Scatec’s project development teams for use in development of new projects.
  • Develop new analysis tools (for instance in Python) and processes for power production analysis across different renewable energy technologies (solar, BESS, wind, Power to X).
  • Build and maintain automated reports and dashboards in MS Power BI or our central monitoring system to help the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) segment and other segments access production and maintenance data.
  • Assist in the development of short-, medium- and long-term production forecasts for operational plants as input to budgeting and reporting processes.
  • Participate in longer-term R&D projects related to power production improvements and technology testing.
  • Support further development and execution of the O&M segment’s Data & Analytics strategy and alignment with Scatec’s wider Digitalization strategy.

Qualifications and competencies

  • Education: Master’s degree in Engineering or Science, preferably within Renewable Energy, Electrical Power Engineering, Physics, Automation, Data Science, Information Systems or similar
  • Experience from the renewable energy sector, preferably within analysis and/or asset management of power plants. Newly graduated candidates with particularly relevant backgrounds and strong academic records will be considered
  • Fluent both written and spoken in English
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to communicate results and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Preferably some experience with programing in e.g. Python and/or Business Intelligence applications such as Power BI
