As a Type B Electrician within the Bioenergy team, you will be responsible for performing skilled level electrical work in the assembly, installation, servicing and testing of electrical wiring, components and equipment for a variety of Bioenergy products including Type B appliances. This role is based in Carrum Downs and will require interstate travel from time to time.

AGL Bioenergy is recognised as a key player in Australia’s emerging renewable gas sector. With proven success to replace natural gas, AGL Bioenergy services are in high demand and as a result this role has been created to support the existing electrical team and contribute toward delivering leading Australian market renewable gas products.

What you’ll be doing

• Performing risk assessments of tasks, understanding how to read drawings and applicable documents as well as assembling, installing, testing and maintaining electrical equipment such as wiring and components.
• Utilising a variety of tools and equipment such as power tools, measuring devices, ammeters and test lamps to install and assemble electrical wires, components or equipment.
• Testing, installing, commissioning and servicing of Type B appliances in-house or on customer site in line with relevant legislation & Standards.
• Performing functional testing on electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and components using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, equipment and components, using testing equipment and hand tools to identify and determine the cause of the problem/s and correct accordingly.
• Repairing or replacing outdated or faulty electrical wires, equipment or components and communicating any delays in allocated tasks.

What you’ll bring

• Grade A Electrician, as well as Type B qualification (Plumber/Gasfitter), some experience with mechanical fitting is highly desirable, as is industrial and or manufacturing experience.
• Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician, Electrical Licence (applicable for Victoria), High Risk Forklift Licence, Construction Induction Card, High Risk Dogman Licence, Working at Heights certificate and First Aid & CPR.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar industry including disconnect-reconnect electrical equipment connected to low voltage (LV) installation wiring certificate.
• Ability to determine the causes of an operating error, and the ability to problem solve and repair the system using required tools.
• Superior attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables in a timely manner.
• Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated relationship management.
