Job Description

Shape the future of decarbonization policy! At 3Degrees, a leading B Corp in the environmental commodities market, we're on a mission to empower organizations to achieve a sustainable future. 3Degrees’ Research & Analysis team is charged with evaluating market and regulatory risks and opportunities related to 3Degrees’ environmental commodities and services. The Research & Analysis team consists of 3-pillars–Market Analysis, Data Management, Regulatory Affairs– who collectively provide market intelligence, data management support, and regulatory and policy support to strengthen the company’s expertise in existing markets and also spur creation in new markets. This Policy Manager role, specifically a member of the Regulatory Affairs team, offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of policy engagement and market analysis. You'll play a vital role in influencing policy outcomes, guiding corporate carbon reduction strategies, and ultimately accelerating the transition to a clean energy future.

This is a full time, exempt role reporting to the Associate Director, Regulatory Affairs. We value camaraderie and the benefits of in-person connection. We prefer candidates to join us in a voluntary flexible hybrid work style at one of our office hubs in San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Portland, ME; or New York, NY. This voluntary model provides flexibility while fostering team collaboration. Exceptional remote candidates within the US will also be considered. Periodic travel may be required for training or team collaboration and to conferences and customers as required. Frequency and cadence is team dependent, but on average is 1-6 times annually.

Please Note: 3Degrees does not provide sponsorship and/or relocation assistance; therefore, pre-existing right-to-work status is a prerequisite to be considered for this position.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our dynamic Regulatory Affairs team, you'll lead the policy engagement strategy related to 3Degrees’ transportation and carbon compliance markets. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead Policy Engagement: Be the voice of 3Degrees, cultivating relationships with government agencies, NGOs, trade associations, and stakeholders to champion our policy priorities in North American transportation and carbon compliance markets. This includes actively participating in stakeholder processes to advocate for impactful policy changes
  • Analyze market trends and policy developments: Translate complex policy issues into actionable insights for businesses, particularly as they relate to sourcing renewable energy in supply chains. Your expertise will help minimize risk and capture opportunities for 3Degrees and our clients
  • Strategic Guidance & Influence: Leverage your market intelligence to provide strategic input to leadership. Identify and manage consultants in key markets to further support policy tracking and success in influencing policy outcomes
  • Thought Leadership & Advocacy: Represent 3Degrees in meetings with government agencies, stakeholder groups, at public forums, and through speaking engagements at conferences. Partner with our Marketing team to craft thought leadership content, including blog posts, opinion pieces, white papers, and other collateral to elevate our visibility as a leader and innovator in the decarbonization space
  • Policy Communication & Advocacy: Ensure clear and impactful communication on policy issues. Write, review, and edit 3Degrees’ comments for public submission in various policy forums

About You
