Targray is looking for an ambitious Junior Trader, Sales & Business Development – Biofuels to join our dynamic trading team. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise by selling renewable fuels such as Biodiesel, Renewable diesel, Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other Renewable fuel commodities to fuel buyers in North America.
As a Junior Trader, Sales & Business Development – Biofuels, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a new book of business through cold calling and prospecting, identifying customer needs, and providing value. You will focus on discovering and developing new opportunities within the Biofuels industry by conducting market research, lead generation, and networking with industry professionals. This role requires exceptional listening and questioning skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting customer relationships.
You’ll become part of our growing global biofuels trading desk, working alongside experienced traders and originators across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
This is a full-time, in-office position based at our Montreal headquarters. The role requires a readiness to travel 10-15% of the time, offering ample opportunities to grow in the role and help increase market adoption of low Carbon fuels.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new customers for renewable fuels (Biodiesel, Renewable Diesel and SAF), focusing on the North American market but also engaging with global markets.
- Collaborate closely with our North American and European biofuel trading teams.
- Work alongside Targray’s Risk and Senior Management teams to optimize trading strategies.
- Identify and Build strong relationships with end customers in the renewable fuels space.
- Ensure seamless trade execution by coordinating closely with the operations and logistics teams.
- Stay abreast of market trends and regulatory changes to seize and grow trading opportunities and open new markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA or Master’s in Finance/Economics is a strong asset.
- Commercial acumen, preferably with 1-3 years of experience in Trading or Sales.
- A proactive approach with a proven track record of getting things done.
- Proficient in cold calling and skilled at devising innovative strategies to attract clients
- Experience in overcoming challenges and breaking through barriers.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively both in-person and remotely.
- Must be based in Montreal or Canada.
- English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US, and other countries across the globe where English is the common language. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirements.
