Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for Transgrid's Apprentice Program, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
- Education: Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent) by the end of 2026, with sound maths and communication skills.
- Career Interest: A genuine desire to pursue a trade in the high-voltage electricity transmission industry.
- Licence: A current driver's licence or willingness to obtain one shortly after starting.
- Personal Attributes: Environmentally and socially responsible, motivated, a strong team player, and eager to learn.
- Skills: Clear communicator, collaborative, lateral thinker, and able to contribute to innovative solutions.
- Cultural Awareness: Respectful of and sensitive to diversity and inclusion.
- Residency: Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen.
- Mobility & Availability: Willing and able to travel and work away from home as needed, and available to commence in January 2027.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights and in/on plant and equipment, noting a maximum weight limit of 140kg for safety compliance of approved ladders.
