Job Description
Key Purpose of Role
This role will be responsible for the design, development, debugging, and maintenance of embedded firmware for microcontroller- and microprocessor-based systems. The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, ownership of complex firmware modules, and the ability to guide junior engineers while working closely with hardware, testing, and system teams.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Projects related
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++ for energy metering products.
- Involvement in Software Development Life-Cycle Activities (requirement gathering, elaboration, solicit clarification, understanding WBS, documentation). Unit Testing, Perform Code Reviews
- Develop and integrate middleware components such as RTOS, bootloaders, and file systems. Ensure firmware meets functional, performance, memory, and power-consumption requirements
- Critical problem solving, identification of risks and critical to quality parameters and suggest risk mitigation, prevention of issues and help in failure analysis.
Core Areas of Responsibility/ Accountability
- Will be part of FW development team and will be responsible for developing and maintaining FW.
- Build & manage the Work-Product repository. Promote & implement reuse of robust & reliable design blocks and work towards standardization. Bring uniform & consistent implementation of technical solutions across the product lines.
- Will be responsible for developing firmware as per the project requirement, verification, troubleshooting, bug fixing, writing Unit tests, technical documentation. Will help in peer review and FW design discussions.
- Will help in performing FW development level testing which can't be feasible during validation.
- Strong individual contributor as developer
Qualifications and Additional Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification - B. E, B. Tech, M.E, M. Tech
- Exposure to electric Metering is great value add.
- Experience Range : 3.6 to 6.9 years
