VEIC has been supporting the development of the Illinois Statewide Technical Reference Manual (TRM) for over a decade as the IL TRM Administrator. This annual process brings together program administrators (utilities), evaluators, advocates, state agencies and additional stakeholders to build consensus on updates to the state's TRM, a document which provides transparency on calculating savings from different energy efficiency measures used for planning and evaluation.
VEIC's Consulting division focuses on delivering a number of programs for clients focused on emerging technology, decarbonization planning, and clean transportation. Interns may have opportunities to support research and analysis in these areas and gain experience in a consulting environment.

- Work with experts on energy efficiency, building decarbonization, utility program design, and equity issues.
- Gain exposure to a broad range of stakeholders including midwestern investor-owned utilities, evaluators, advocates, and program implementers.
