Job Description
The Senior PMO Analyst is responsible for delivering portfolio-level reporting, data analytics, and insight to support executive decision-making.
This role owns the development and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards and provides analytical support to enable effective governance, prioritisation and performance tracking.
The role is instrumental to the effective governance and operation of the Portfolio Management Office by ensuring portfolio processes, controls, and reporting cycles are maintained. Successful reporting of metrics across the ORE Catapult Portfolio of projects including development of Power BI dashboards that provide actionable insights to inform strategic and operational decision-making. Leading the creation and maintenance of a portfolio RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) log, promoting a culture of proactive risk identification and mitigation.
What will you do?
- Design, develop, and evolve Power BI dashboards for portfolio, programme, and project reporting to identify performance risks and early warning indicators
- Analyse trends across cost, schedule, risk, resource capacity, and benefits realisation
- Work with the PMO Manager and Senior Project Planner to develop KPI's, forward-looking forecasts and scenario modelling
- Produce reporting packs for governance forums, at varying levels.
- Ensure data accuracy and stage gate reporting integrity and consistency across portfolio reporting systems
- Support implementation of portfolio management tools and data models
- Work with ICT to automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Support portfolio financial tracking (budget vs actuals, forecasting and benefits tracking)
- Act as a key authority for PMO processes and standards
- Provide training and guidance on governance and reporting standards and drive continuous improvement of analysis and reporting.
- Present insights and analysis to senior leadership when required

Requirements
Essential
- Power BI development skills (DAX, data modelling, visual design)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working in a PMO or portfolio environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to translate data into executive-ready insights
- Good understanding of portfolio governance and project lifecycle
Desirable
- Experience with PPM tools
- Financial analysis experience
- SQL knowledge
Qualifications:
- Project management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, P3O) would be desirable.
- A bachelor's degree in a technical, analytical or related field would be advantageous.
