Job Description
The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is the national trade association for the solar and storage industry and represents more than 1,000 member companies and 255,000 Americans working across the United States. SEIA is leading the transformation to a clean energy economy through advocacy, education, and collaboration. We are committed to ensuring that solar energy is a mainstream energy source in the United States and that it is accessible to all Americans.
Position Overview
SEIA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Policy Analyst. The Policy Analyst will support SEIA’s efforts to advance solar energy policy at the federal and state levels. This position will focus on a range of policy issues, including federal tax policy, state renewable portfolio standards, and other regulatory issues affecting the solar industry.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on federal and state solar energy policies and regulations
- Monitor and track relevant legislation and regulatory developments
- Prepare written reports, memos, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in the development of policy positions and advocacy strategies
- Collaborate with SEIA staff, member companies, and external stakeholders to advance policy goals
- Support SEIA’s outreach efforts to policymakers and the public
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and other events as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, environmental science, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in policy analysis, advocacy, or related work
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of solar energy and related policy issues is a plus
