Elemental Excelerator

约50名员工(来源:linkedin.com)。

Elemental is seeking a Director of Data Strategy & Insights to lead how we measure, understand, and communicate impact across our portfolio and the broader climate innovation ecosystem.

This role sits at the intersection of data, strategy, and storytelling. You will build the systems, analytics, and insights that help Elemental make better investment decisions, identify emerging trends, and demonstrate the real-world impact of our work. We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable building dashboards, designing scalable data systems, and synthesizing complex information into clear insights that drive action.

As a key cross-functional partner, you'll work closely with our investment, portfolio, communications, and operations teams to strengthen data infrastructure, improve decision-making, and surface the stories that matter most. You'll also help identify and implement AI and automation tools that improve efficiency and enable our team to scale its impact. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities Include

Data Strategy & Infrastructure

  • Lead the design and execution of Elemental's organizational data strategy, including the portfolio annual shareholder survey.
  • Maintain and continuously improve centralized data infrastructure, primarily within HubSpot and Airtable
  • Improve the organization's CRM architecture, including stakeholder engagement, pipeline tracking, and reporting systems
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools, automate workflows, integrate emerging technologies, and improve organizational efficiency

Impact Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze organizational and portfolio performance, pipeline activity, investment outcomes, and market trends, with a focus on analysis of the annual shareholder survey results.
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools that translate internal and external industry datasets into actionable insights
  • Identify emerging themes and trends across sectors, and proactively surface strategic opportunities and risks
  • Partner with investment, growth, communications, and leadership teams to translate insights into compelling narratives, reports, case studies, and thought leadership
  • Help oversee and manage external data partnerships, including relationships with data analytics firms

Portfolio Coaching

  • Establish portfolio-wide impact measurement frameworks and reporting standards
  • Coach companies on identifying the metrics for growth, impact and commercialization and linking metrics to environmental and community outcomes, business performance and revenue growth
  • Support the development of impact narratives that resonate with customers, partners, policymakers, and investors
  • Advise companies on building scalable data collection, management, and reporting systems
  • Facilitate peer learning by identifying common challenges, benchmarks, and best practices across the portfolio

About You

You're naturally curious and passionate about using data to better understand the world. You enjoy uncovering patterns, asking thoughtful questions, and turning complex information into clear, actionable insights. Equally comfortable with analytical rigor and big-picture thinking, you're focused on finding the "so what" behind the data.

You're also a strong collaborator and communicator who can translate insights across teams and audiences. You believe data is most valuable when it informs decisions, shapes strategy, and strengthens storytelling. In this role, you'll help bring clarity to complexity, uncover meaningful signals across our portfolio, and translate them into insights that advance Elemental's mission.

Qualifications

(Even if you don't meet 100% of the qualifications, we still encourage you to apply!)

Foundational skills & experience

  • Analytical rigor - Strong experience analyzing complex datasets and translating findings into actionable insights, recommendations, and strategic decisions
  • Impact orientation - Experience measuring and evaluating environmental, economic, or social outcomes within climate, investment, or mission-driven organizations
  • Data storytelling - Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information into compelling narratives and data visualizations
  • Systems expertise - Experience building and managing scalable data infrastructure, CRM systems, and reporting workflows using platforms such as HubSpot, Airtable, Salesforce, or similar tools
  • Collaborative leadership - Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills with the ability to align teams around data-driven insights
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment where curiosity, adaptability, and initiative are highly valued

What would set you apart

  • Automation fluency - Familiarity with automation and AI tools that improve reporting, workflows, and organizational efficiency
  • Coaching acumen - Experience consulting, supporting entrepreneurs or providing client-services around impact measurement and reporting

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time "at-will" position working at least 40 hours per week. You will be asked to travel for work periodically.

The salary range for this role is $138,100 - $207,200, which is based on market data and the organization's compensation philosophy. Our offer will be within the range as required by certain state laws and individual salary offers will vary within the range depending on location, relevant education, knowledge, skills, and experience. We also offer comprehensive employee benefits, including a professional development stipend and three weeks paid time off.

Elemental has a hybrid working model and if you are within a reasonable distance to one of our offices in New York, Bay Area, or Honolulu, we ask employees to come into the office at least once a week. Currently, most people come in two times a week to build community with team members.
