The Corporate Safety Operations Program Specialist will support the Ameresco Office of Safety & Risk Management by managing the operational infrastructure, systems, reporting, documentation, compliance tracking, and program coordination necessary to support Ameresco's safety program for our Western US based safety teams. NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates who reside within the Western US region.
Responsibilities
- Provide enterprise-level safety operations and program support to the Vice President of Safety & Risk Management and Ameresco business units, coordinating priorities across the western region safety teams.
- Maintain department trackers, action-item registers, and compliance schedules for safety initiatives, program deliverables, audit findings, corrective actions, training requirements, document reviews, and reporting deadlines.
- Collaborate with Regional Safety Managers, business-unit leaders, project teams, and the counterpart Corporate Safety Operations Specialist to maintain consistent safety support, communication, and coverage across the organization.
- Provide program and administrative support for Vector Solutions EHS and LMS, including user access, organizational structure, employee and project assignments, data integrity, system workflows, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate safety training matrices, course assignments, completion tracking, certification expirations, refresher requirements, missing records, and training-compliance reporting.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and maintain safety performance data and prepare dashboards, scorecards, trend analyses, executive summaries, presentations, and weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Maintain document control for corporate safety manuals, programs, procedures, templates, forms, Site-Specific Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, Activity Hazard Analyses, emergency plans, training documents, and related safety records.
- Support business units and project teams during project startup, ongoing operations, and project closeout by helping ensure required safety documentation is complete, current, properly approved, accessible, and aligned with corporate standards.
- Support the tracking and organization of incident reports, near misses, first-aid cases, recordable injuries, vehicle incidents, property damage, environmental events, investigation materials, photographs, statements, and related records.
- Track corrective actions resulting from incidents, inspections, audits, client reviews, and safety findings; follow up with responsible parties and assist with lessons learned, safety alerts, and closure-status reporting.
- Support subcontractor safety prequalification, onboarding, training documentation, safety plans, project-specific submittals, compliance tracking, audit findings, corrective actions, and closeout records.
- Coordinate safety meetings and leadership reviews; prepare agendas, meeting minutes, decisions, follow-up assignments, safety communications, reminders, department updates, and leadership summaries.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to supporting improvements to safety workflows, reporting methods, digital workspaces, templates, systems, and standardized department processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, business administration, construction management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in safety operations, environmental health and safety, safety program management, construction safety, compliance management, risk management, or a related operational role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction, renewable energy, solar, battery energy storage systems, utilities, federal contracting, engineering, operations and maintenance, or EPC operations.
- Experience supporting regional, multi-state, national, remote, or enterprise-level teams is preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety documentation, training records, incident tracking, audit findings, corrective actions, and compliance-related recordkeeping.
- Experience supporting safety leadership, project leadership, regional managers, business-unit leaders, or corporate operations teams.
- Experience using or administering safety management systems, learning management systems, EHS software, training platforms, or compliance tracking tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint is required.
- Strong ability to maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, tracking logs, action-item registers, training matrices, document control systems, and executive summaries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, stakeholders, and deliverables is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining consistent communication with leadership and team members is required.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, accuracy, and discretion is required.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, accountability, and document-control discipline.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EM 385-1-1, NFPA 70E, heat illness prevention, fall protection, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, subcontractor safety management, and project safety documentation.
- Experience with Vector Solutions EHS, Vector Solutions LMS, IndustrySafe, RedVector, TargetSolutions, or similar safety technology platforms is preferred.
- Experience managing LMS training assignments, course completion tracking, refresher training schedules, certification records, and compliance reports is preferred.
- Experience supporting EHS software modules related to incident management, inspections, audits, corrective actions, hazard reporting, safety observations, job safety analysis documentation, and safety dashboards is preferred.
- Experience preparing executive-level safety reports, presentations, dashboards, and leadership summaries.
- Project Management Professional, Associate Safety Professional, Graduate Safety Practitioner, Certified Safety Professional, Construction Health and Safety Technician, OSHA 30-Hour, or similar safety/project management credentials preferred but not required.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $92,000 - $134,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.
Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
