Become a NERC Compliance Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll serves as a senior technical and strategic resource within the Compliance Project Management Office (CPMO), providing subject matter expertise and leadership in support of NERC Operations & Planning (O&P), NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), and applicable CPUC regulatory requirements. The position leverages extensive utility operations, engineering, cybersecurity, and compliance experience to help shape enterprise compliance strategies, guide program development, evaluate regulatory impacts, and support the design of sustainable governance and control frameworks.

This role partners closely with operational organizations, engineering teams, cybersecurity professionals, compliance program owners, and executive leadership to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical compliance strategies and risk-based controls supporting NERC O&P, NERC CIP, and CPUC regulatory requirements across critical utility operations. Responsibilities

  • Develops company-wide policy, program and procedure documents to support the company's compliance with the required agencies.
  • Leads response to regulatory compliance monitoring events, enforcement actions, compliance filings, data- reporting, and data requests.
  • Develops and maintains compliance plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Improves regulatory data management; ensuring all legal registers are updated, and that incident management tools and systems are functioning and properly integrated with business planning processes.
  • Improves the identification, monitoring and interpretation of new and changing technical regulations, assessing impact and preparing operations for any changes required in response.
  • Identifies and initiates continuous improvement in regulatory compliance and identifies opportunities to improve policies and standards.
  • Conducts proactive compliance and operational risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance. Collaborates with various stakeholders to provide direction and implement sound business decisions. Reviews strategies and business communications in order to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations enacted by external regulatory authorities.
  • Initiates, manages, and oversees periodic audits or assessments of the compliance program to verify compliance performance and engage in gap analysis and, if appropriate, recommend improvements.
  • Reviews company procedures to ensure they align with the company's current codes and policies.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience with regulatory compliance, guidelines, compliance standards, risk assessment of noncompliance issues or cybersecurity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in electric utility operations, engineering, transmission, distribution, generation, protection systems, or cybersecurity
  • Experience working with NERC Operations & Planning and/or NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection standards.
  • Experience leading and managing projects and building compliance programs
  • Experience in utility field operations with IT/OT platforms

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
