Mission

Neoen is looking for a Junior Financial Analyst to join its team in Toronto, Canada. Your role will be to support project competitiveness by developing, optimising and maintaining efficient financial models, in line with company policies.

Key aspects of the role

• Review and analyse financial models to assess project profitability ;
• Analyse and propose commercial terms to improve project profitability ;
• Adapt financial models to reflect changes in applicable regulations ;
• Tailor financial models to the contractual arrangements of each offtaker ;
• Implement and update methodologies for assessing profitability ;
• Review financial models in collaboration with Neoen's Finance team ;
• Analyse potential projects ;
• Build financial models and develop sensitivity analyses and financial scenarios.

Profile

The candidate will need the following skills and experience to succeed in this role:

• Master's degree in Finance following valuation and project finance coursework ;
• Two to four years of experience in financial modelling, project valuation, financial analysis and corporate finance, preferably in the electricity sector ;
• Understanding of capital expenditure (CAPEX), operating expenditure (OPEX) and resource assumptions ;
• Technical and regulatory knowledge relevant to the electricity sector ;
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to bring together different perspectives, work effectively in a team and maintain a positive attitude ;
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate proactively across teams ;
• Strong problem-solving skills.
