Senior Project Manager

Job Description

We are looking for Senior Project Managers to join our SSEN Transmission Delivery Team to deliver our High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) projects within our Pathway to 2030 Programme. Reporting into the Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a civils and/or building package of works in relation to one of our onshore Converter stations. This will include managing a multi-disciplinary project team and framework supply chain partners under the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework.

You will

• Be accountable for the delivery of a £300m+ civil & building package as part of the wider HVDC project
• Ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of those working on the project, championing SSEs Golden Rules
• Have full accountability for the NEC3 contract management of your package, including change control
• Manage internal and external stakeholders, including framework supply chain partners from the ECI stage to construction stage, delivering to programme and budget
• Provide regular site-based leadership to drive progress and achieve SHEQ outcomes

You have

• Prior experience delivering large-scale multi-disciplinary projects in a Delivery role – prior delivery of high-performance buildings preferred but not essential
• Strong NEC3 contract negotiation and administration experience
• Effective Safety Leadership and People Management skills to manage a team
• An engineering, construction, or project management qualification / degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in a pre-construction project delivery environment – preferably successfully implementing Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) to de-risk project delivery
