Job Description

We’re looking for a transformative Technical Training Senior Manager to lead the design, execution, and scaling of a comprehensive training ecosystem across Wind, Solar, BESS, and Substation technologies as well as that of our Remote Operations Center. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our technician workforce—developing talent from entry-level through leadership, while aligning with safety, operational, and strategic goals.

You’ll be at the forefront of building a world-class technical training program that directly impacts safety, efficiency, and employee growth as a key decision-maker. If you’re passionate about developing people, driving innovation, and building scalable systems - this is your opportunity to lead transformation at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

Program Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the overhaul of our technical training program, including governance, delivery methods, and assessment standards.
  • Chair and coordinate the Training Committee and subcommittees to ensure alignment with operational strategy.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Job Qualification Standards (JQS) across all technician levels.

Curriculum & Content Development

  • Collaborate with internal SMEs and external vendors to build and maintain training content tailored to each technology.
  • Ensure all training materials meet regulatory, safety, and operational standards.
  • Develop and maintain robust assessment tools including advancement exams, oral boards, and aptitude testing.

Training Delivery & Infrastructure

  • Manage the deployment of training via Computer Based Training (CBT), Instructor Lead Training (ILT), On-the-Job Training (OJT), and formal certifications.
  • Oversee LMS administration (e.g., SuccessFactors) and progress tracking systems.
  • Evaluate and implement hybrid training models (in-house, outsourced, or blended).

Talent Development

  • Own the Technician Trainee journey and advancement pathways through Technician 3 and Lead Technician roles.
  • Partner with HR and site leadership to align hiring, onboarding, and training standards.
  • Support leadership and performance management training for supervisory roles.

Operational Integration

  • Align training initiatives with Renewable Performance Monitoring Center (RPMC) development, Job Performance Measures (JPM), Job Task Analysis (JTA), Difficulty-Importance-Frequency (DIF) analysis, and workforce planning.
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers, Regional Managers, and Safety Reps to ensure effective rollout and feedback loops.
  • Monitor KPIs including ROI, retention, safety incidents, and technician proficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in technical training, operations, or workforce development in energy or industrial sectors.
  • Proven success designing and implementing training programs across multiple technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of LMS platforms and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, safety standards, and technical certifications.
  • Understanding of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically.

What Would Be Nice

  • Experience with SuccessFactors LMS or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of Wind, Solar, BESS, Substation, and Control Center systems.
  • Experience managing third-party training vendors.
  • Background in performance management and leadership development.
