The role

We seek a mature and experienced team leader. A person who will lead our multi-national team and focus on delivery of response to our customer proposal requests and manage a team of professional engineers, market analysts and portfolio managers. You don’t need to be an engineer, Analyst or technical person. But you must be willing and capable to roll up your sleeves and work side by side with your team members if needed.

You will lead to team to deliver supply solutions and contracts for our customers, run customer purchasing portfolios, working to buy on the market for behalf our of our delegated mandate customers. You will be also overseeing a dynamic procurement process team, for our renewables and carbon credit teams.

Functional Scope

The Energy Markets Group closely collaborates with sales, account management, contracts, settlements team, and other in-house stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations on energy market trends, risks, and opportunities. It also services and builds relationships with external stakeholders and counterparties.

The Energy Markets Manager is a leadership position responsible for leading initiatives that align with and drive the organisation's corporate objectives and strategies forward.

• Oversee a team of energy markets analysts based in Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
• Develop and build relationships with external counterparties and stakeholders.
• Ensure the team delivers timely, accurate and comprehensive procurement analysis, summaries and service proposals.
• Support business units in various jurisdictions, including Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
• Develop and improve business processes related to energy and renewables market analysis.
• Develop systems and processes relating to new products and solutions concerning the energy market.

Role Skills and Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in managing a technical team.
• At least 5 years of externally facing stakeholder relationships.
• Formal University Degree or masters level in Engineering, Business, Science desirable.
• Management qualifications desirable.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of energy markets, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks in relevant jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in market analysis tools, data visualisation, and statistical modelling.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in developing and implementing business processes and workflows is an advantage.
