Commonwealth Fusion Systems

Virksomhedsoversigt

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS)

Cambridge, MA, USA

2018

At Arbejde Der

Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is on a mission to deliver the urgent transition to fusion energy.

Combining decades of research, top talent, and new technologies, we're designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants. And we're working with policymakers and suppliers to build the energy industry of the future.

We're in the best position to make it happen. Since 2018, we've raised nearly $3 billion in capital, making us the largest and leading private fusion company in the world.

Now we're looking for more thinkers, doers, builders, and makers to join us. People who'll bring new perspectives, solve tough problems, and thrive as part of a team.

If that's you and this role fits, we want to hear from you.

Join the power movement as Manager, Supply Chain - HTS Magnets

HTS magnets are key elements of SPARC/ARC technology, and a vital diversification opportunity via SuperBU.

Sourcing and delivery of magnet components with sufficient quality, quickly and at low cost has critical path impacts to SPARC and major implications for ARC viability.

This Manager leads the team to deliver a broad range of parts and assemblies to CFS1 and SASY in close collaboration with engineering and production. Success in this role requires proactive technical and operational risk management through remaining SPARC magnet design and first encounters. It also requires sustaining the team through a constant fast pace of visible critical path needs.

Furthermore, this Manager is a key contributor to future ARC and SuperBU magnet supply chains. The Manager is therefore ready to innovate supply chains and manufacturing processes, engage on magnet design (producibility) and collaborate on future sourcing strategies.

The Manager, Supply Chain - HTS Magnets is an experienced supply chain professional able to:

  • Lead a team in charge of strategic and tactical procurement and supplier management
  • As a working manager, drive the source selection process from end to end

Engage with the engineering and production teams to manage risks and first encounters proactively.

To be successful at CFS you must be a creative problem solver with the ability to work collaboratively on hard problems in a fast-paced environment with great people.

    • Coordinate supplier development and reliability activities with the assigned supplier development engineers in a matrixed organization
    • Drive sourcing projects, coordinating cross-functionally

    • Create and manage purchase orders
    • Monitor suppliers throughout the execution of the contracts
    • Support cost savings initiatives, lead time improvement projects, and quality improvement projects
