Summary

The Sr. Construction Scheduler sets up and maintains construction schedules using Oracle’s Primavera P6 Professional Project Management software. The Sr. Construction Scheduler provides project estimating, planning, scheduling, pre-construction, and construction support for Wind, Solar, Battery (BESS), and Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business lines.

Requirements

  • Participates in required training and follows safety, quality, and environmental management system (SMS, QMS, EMS) procedures. Works with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment (HSQE) group to incorporate safe practices and mitigate safety risks in construction project schedules.
  • Provides ongoing, regular communication/coordination, training, and leadership of construction schedulers.
  • Develops & maintains Construction schedules through Primavera P6 per best practice scheduling procedures and processes while following department directives.
  • Assists in maintaining Oracle’s Primavera P6 Professional Project Management software as RES’s project scheduling system.
  • Provides oversight, support, and coaching to schedulers and other stakeholders in maintaining and updating project schedules.
  • Ensures regular, timely communication/coordination with key project stakeholders from schedule development through schedule changes and project closure.
  • Trains, guides, supports, and mentors schedulers and stakeholders in schedule updating, maintenance, use, and adherence processes.
  • Collaborates with project teams to set up and maintain resource and cost-loaded project schedules across multiple projects, as and when required.
  • Collaborates with construction project teams on sequencing and a general understanding of means & methods and applying those effects to the schedule.
  • Performs schedule update & meeting process, gathers daily and weekly schedule status updates from stakeholders, and verifies and resolves accurate status updates, out-of-sequence activities, and schedule changes.
  • Performs schedule-related critical path, adherence, resource, cost, and earned value reporting, as required on the project.
  • Leads project schedule-related meetings weekly and drives scheduled engagement with stakeholders.
  • Prepares and maintains resource-loaded master schedules supporting multiple stakeholders.
  • Operates Company vehicle when involved in site operations activities.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Develops & maintains proposal & pre-construction schedules through Primavera P6 per best practice scheduling procedures and processes while following department directives.
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects, initiatives, or events. Solicits input from project teams on process improvement initiatives.
  • Supports the Director, Construction Scheduler in additional projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required

  • Safety first mentality.
  • Oracle’s Primavera P6 Professional Project Management Software.
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy construction industry and associated field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Critical path management (CPM) methodologies.
  • Project planning.
  • Construction project schedule preparation, monitoring, and controlling.
  • Communication, relationship building, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Information analysis, compilation, and synthesis.
  • Continuous improvement and best practice leadership.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making, even with limited information and timeframes.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Able to train and coach others in scheduling methodologies.

Desirable

  • Project management preferred.
  • Earned value management (EVM) procedures.
  • OSHA 10 or 30.
  • Functional competencies include passion, accountability, collaboration, excellence, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school/GED, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or project management discipline(s), required.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in construction project schedule preparation, monitoring, and controlling, required.
  • 5 or more years’ experience in construction project schedule preparation, monitoring, and controlling, preferred.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in renewable energy and/or transmission and distribution industry.
  • Ability to travel 31-50% domestically.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
