The Eastern Busway is a significant project that is about more than just better transport. It will increase access to jobs and education, connect people to social and community opportunities, attract investment and growth, enable urban development, and help reduce emissions.

Its efficient services will give nearby communities some great options for cycling, walking or using the bus, and it will be a vital part of the public transport network in Tāmaki Makaurau for decades to come.

The Opportunity

The Site Engineer (structures) will provide structures expertise to the Eastern Busway Alliance project. You will report into the Zone Manager and Senior Project Engineer to effectively support the project in attaining its business objectives and achieving excellence in its key result areas.

Key Accountabilities for the position will be:

• Liaise with the wider project team members, including Design, Health and Safety, Estimating, Integration and Procurement teams as required to develop and delivery the construction works pack.
• Maintain a daily diary for all works within the assigned remit, which is accurate and finalised at the end of the shift.
• Implement assigned construction work packs on a daily basis, ensuring full compliance, and highlight to the SPE any forecasted impacts or variations to Senior on site staff to ensure project success.
• Understand drawings and specifications, communication requirements to others as required;
• Plan and review day to day delivery of engineering aspects of the designated project works, work with the Project Engineers to ensure the works are delivered to budget with meeting quality standards.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Ideally Tertiary Qualified in Civil Engineering, Structures or similar
• Minimum 2 years experience in a project based environment
• Demonstrated experience with structures highly desirable
• Exposure to civil infrastructure, roads or rail highly desirable
• Intermediate to advance level in MS Office especially Excel.
