Job Description
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take the lead on designing innovative mechanical solutions for our cutting-edge ConnectDER power integration devices, working closely under the guidance of our Director of Mechanical Engineering. Your expertise will drive the future of our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
This is an on-site position, requiring 5 days/week in our Philadelphia, PA office
Core Functions/Duties
- Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new components and products.
- Develop design and verification documentation
- Develop design concepts to meet product specifications
- Lead design of mechanical components and assemblies from concept to production
- Perform design analysis (thermal, structural, tolerance)
- Develop and support prototype builds
- Develop and execute mechanical and product test verification and validation plans
- CAD (preferably Solid Works) proficiency to facilitate and document designs
- Interface with Supply Chain and suppliers to incorporate DFx feedback, and transition designs to production
- Support production and customers as needed
- Assist in the day to day coordination of work with partners on new design initiatives.
- Generate documentation and assist in the design of programs to evaluate and audit the manufacturing process.
- Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff, share best practices, and knowledge sharing.
Compensation range for this role begins at $120,000 + bonus + equity

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, required
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferred
Required Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in mechanical component design and mechanical CAD design
- Design for manufacturability experience
- Demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities
- Designing plastic injection molded parts
- Designing stamped metal parts
- Rapid prototyping
- Thermal management design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead projects in conjunction with strategic partners
Preferred Experience
- Electrical Utility industry background
- experience
- Experience or interest in grid integration of renewable resources
- Electric Utility/Grid experience
- UL, NEC, ANSI experience
Key Competencies
- SolidWorks CAD
- Machining and prototype assembly
Work Environment/Physical Demands: Must have the ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time with or without accommodation.
