Head of Controlling (m/f/d)

As an internationally focused company specializing in renewable energy and smart technologies, we are now expanding our team in Africa and looking for a talented Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in our growth.

About the Role

As the Head of Controlling for our African operations, you will establish and lead a controlling department ultimately across our African subsidiaries. Based initially in Dakar, Senegal, with opportunities to travel to various African sites, you will be instrumental in managing our financial and operational performance. Reporting directly to our Group CFO in Germany, you’ll shape financial strategies to drive business growth across the region.

Your duties

• Prepare, monitor, analyze, and report on budgets for country-specific operations and projects, ensuring compliance with international financial regulations.
• Develop financial forecasts to predict revenues, expenses, profits, and cash flows.
• Leverage your detail-oriented approach to create business plans and profitability analyses.
• Collaborate closely with various departments in the implementation of automated processes and modern financial systems.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, as well as ad hoc analyses.
• Oversee financial control procedures, ensuring thorough and accurate reviews.

Your profile

• Minimum of five years in a financial leadership or consultancy/audit role with a focus on operational controlling in an international environment.
• Strong financial management skills, including a solid grasp on IFRS.
• A passion for making a positive impact and contributing to Off-Grid’s mission.
• Experience with SAP S/4 HANA or similar ERP systems.
• A hands-on mentality with attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial systems.
• Business fluency in English is mandatory and ideally also in French.
